Year End Update for 2022

Happy Holidays! I wanted to take a moment to thank all my readers and fans for making this my most successful year yet. I couldn’t have done it without you.

In 2022, I released my second book in the Koyote Universe, BALLAD OF THE WEREVIXENS, my terrifying crime thriller A FINE EVENING IN HELL, and my horror novel tribute to slasher movies, EX-BOOGEYMAN. I also re-released my Christmas thriller novella, A COLD PLACE FOR DYING.

In other news, I opened my own website where readers can purchase signed books directly from me, as well as t-shirts, stickers, buttons, and other cool swag items.

I was a special guest at the final SCARES THAT CARE charity event, Authorcon 2022, CT Horrorfest, and Haverhill’s Halloween Book Festival—all excellent conventions where my fans came out to see me and get signed books. I loved getting to meet you all! Stay tuned for 2023 book signing tour announcements.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and I’ll see you in the new year!

Super fans. Groupies. Stalkers.

These people will give anything for the idols they worship, be they rock stars, actors or authors. Or even serial killers.

Lori is just such a fanatic. Her obsession is with Edmund Cox, a man of sadistic cruelty who butchered more than twenty women. She’s gone so far as to forge a relationship with him, visiting him in prison and sending him letters on a regular basis. She will do anything to get close to him, so when he gives her a task, she eagerly accepts it.

She has no idea of the horror that awaits her.

Edmund tells her she must go to his cabin in the woods of Killen and retrieve a key to deliver to a mysterious figure known only as The River Man.

In her quest, she brings along her handicapped sister, and they journey through the deep, dark valley, beginning their trip upriver. The trip quickly becomes a surreal nightmare, one that digs up Lori’s personal demons, the ones she feels bonds her to Edmund. The river runs with flesh, the cabin is a vault of horrors, and ghostly blues music echoes through the mountains. Soon they will learn that The River Man is not quite fact or folklore, and definitely not human — at least, not anymore. And the key is just the beginning of what is required of Lori to prove she’s worthy of a madman’s love.

“Having already proved himself a master of extreme horror with Full Brutal, in Gone To See The River Man, Triana shows he is able to paint his uniquely disturbing visions with a much broader palette. This gloomily atmospheric novel is an excellent and unnerving exercise in steadily mounting dread and an inexorable rendezvous with doom. It fuses family tragedy with phantasmagoric horror in a way that will linger long in memory. In short, this Triana guy is a serious contender.”

—Bryan Smith, author of Depraved

“Kristopher Triana pens the most violent, depraved tales with the craft and care of a poet describing a sunset, only the sunset has been eviscerated, and dismembered, and it is screaming.”

—Wrath James White, author of The Resurrectionist

The Long Shadows of October – Now Available

Now available from Grindhouse Press. THE LONG SHADOWS OF OCTOBER, a brand new Halloween horror novel.

“One of the most exciting and disturbing voices in extreme horror in quite some time. His stuff hurts so good.” – Brian Keene, author of The Rising

“What would you get if you combined a raunchy teen-sex romp party movie with a haunted house ruled by a vengeful, lust-fueled evil? You’d get an unforgettable NC-17 read packed with tempted virgins, tormented spirits, grisly surprises, and the ultimate showdown of female-empowered sensuality. In other words, you’d get this book!” – Christine Morgan, author of Lakehouse Infernal

Appearance! Killercon – Austin, TX

Very excited to announce that I’ll be a part of two panels at KillerCon in Austin, TX on Saturday, August 17.

7:30pm Raising The Freak Flag! Sex, Perversion, Fetishes, and Utter Depravity. When Does It Go Too Far? I’ll be up there with Edward Lee, Wrath James White, John Skipp, Christine Morgan and Dave Barnett.

“In Extreme Horror, Erotic Horror, and even Bizarro, sex is often used as a plot device, a source of fear, and terror, an example of how terrible our antagonist can be. When does it go too far and become sexist, or exploitive? Is it okay to portray sexual minorities as villains? Kinks and fetishes as examples of evil?”

Before that, at 6pm “HOW NOT TO KILL YOURSELF: What Do You Do To Stay Sane And Creative?” I’ll be up there with Lucas Magnum, William Gagliani, Michael Luis Dixon, Kenzie Jennings and Kelli Owen.

“After wallowing in the realm of werewolves, demons, zombies, serial killers, and their victims, dredging up the horrors from your past, and the headlines to bleed them onto the page, how do you fend off depression? What do you do with your anger and outrage? What do you do when self-doubt and imposter syndrome become paralyzing? How do you hold it together and keep writing?”

I’ll also be signing books all weekend!

Join us for the carnage!

The Long Shadows of October

Triana’s brand new horror novel “The Long Shadows of October” will be unleashed this fall via Grindhouse Press. Official release date TBA. Cover art by George C. Cotronis

When Joe and Danny take on the job of house sitting Snowden Manor, they fail to realize that they won’t be in the house alone. For inside the walls swarms a horrible specter, one that uses the manse as a prison for souls. She is part ghost, part succubus, and part black witch – an enchanting woman who died as a teenage girl within the house. And now that the October super moon is falling over the mountains, she is ready to reclaim her flesh.

Kayla is a shy girl who has a crush on Joe, so when he invites her to the house party she and her best friend Maxine come along. But no sooner do they get there than strange things start to happen. People go missing and the boys begin to… change.

Kayla is visited by wraiths on the mountain. They advise her to destroy the witch before she takes over the souls of her friends. This leads Kayla on a journey through necromancy and seduction, one that could cost her her sanity if not her life. And as Halloween approaches, the manor becomes a vessel for all the powers of darkness, leading to a showdown of otherworldly horror as the lines between two dimensions are severed.

New Novel TOXIC LOVE

TOXIC LOVE. Coming this Valentine’s Day. Pre-order the ebook now for just 99 cents.

When you’re forty-five, getting divorced, and disillusioned from years of soul-sucking work in corporate America, there isn’t much to look forward to. With his personal life just as deep in the dumps as his professional life, Mike Ashbrook figures a janitorial job would be somehow fitting, but what he finds is a different kind of clean-up service.

Now Mike is wrist-deep in human waste. As a crime-scene cleaner, when the police are done, his job is just beginning. His biggest problem now, besides wiping up blood, guts, and other nastiness, is his new co-worker, Sage. She’s young, beautiful, and the only other employee who doesn’t quit after a week. She may also be totally insane. Sage is not just an enigma—she’s toxic.

Toxic Love is a darkly comic and erotic nightmare from the master of blood-soaked horror, Kristopher Triana. Throughout this tale of perversion, gore, necrophilia and even some mobsters, Triana pens powerful characters who will move you just as deeply as they’ll repulse you.

This Valentine’s Day, get toxic! What have you got to lose? After all, you know what they say: No Guts, No Glory Hole!
